The Full Story
MBH Bank is one of R34DY's most important customers and is one of Hungary's most significant financial service providers. Active in all banking segments, from the retail to large corporate, they offer solutions from a standard bank account through a mortgage and agricultural business as well. It is no wonder they want to stay ahead of the curve and R34DY was there to help.
MBH relies on Oracle Banking and also on Oracle Infrastructure to drive most of their business. When their DB hardware came up for renewal, Oracle Exadata machines were the natural choice, but there was some reluctance to jump into the unknown and go with a cloud solution.
R34DY did some tests and calculations, taking into consideration the bank is willing to make a significant mindset change in their IT operations, but only if it has significant benefits. R34DY suggested taking into consideration the Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) option, which at the time was a novel and untested solution in our local market.
Upon seeing all the benefits of the Exadata Cloud@Customer solution, the bank committed itself to go in this direction. It was the first ExaCC deal in the financial sector in Hungary. Since then, R34DY has had other deals as well - even MBH itself has gone further wit it's ExaCC mindset change.
As the news of ExaCC benefits circulated in the market, other market participants also started their own analysis with R34DY, opening up to the benefits of migrating from on premise solutions to the cloud.
